ธนาคาร แห่ง ประเทศไทย บัตรธนาคาร ๖๐ พระปฐมบรมราชโองการ "เราจะครองแผ่นดินโดยธรรม เพื่อประโยชน์สุขแห่งมหาชนชาวสยาม" พระบาทสมเด็จพระปรมินทรมหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราชทรงเจริญพระชนมพรรษาหกสิบบริบูรณ์ ในวันที่ ๕ ธันวาคม พุทธศักราช ๒๕๓๐ ด้วยพระบุญญาธิการบารมี ฐานะการเงินของประเทศได้เข้าสู่สภาวะที่มั่นคงเป็นที่ประจักษ์แจ้ง ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทยจึงเห็นเป็นการสมควรออกบัตรธนาคารให้ใช้เป็นเงินที่ชำระหนี้ได้ตามกฎหมายเป็นครั้งแรกเพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติ์ ณ สมัยอันเป็นมหามงคลนี้ ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทยขอพระราชทานน้อมเกล้าถวายพระพรชัยมงคลให้ทรงพระเจริญยิ่งยืนนาน ธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย
