Obverse symbol

In the center we see a view of the Shaybah Oil Field which is a super-giant disputed oil field under the control of Saudi Arabia and is located in the northern edge of the Rub' Al-Khali/Empty Quarter desert. It is located about 10 km south of the border to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, which is a straight line drawn in the desert. It is 40 km south of the eastern part of Liwa Oasis of Abu Dhabi. Above it, in Arabic lettering, appear the name of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority, the number and date of the Royal Decree pursuant to which it was issued and the name of King Abdullah. To the right we see the picture of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. At the bottom of the banknote we see the signatures of the the Minister of Finance and the Governor of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority. Below in the center in between the signatures we see the value of the banknote printed in Arabic.
