Obverse symbolThe leftmost section is blank, except for the double-headed eagle and slogan "Russia United Great Indivisible" printed in "chalk", a small rosette-like emblem at the bottom contains the number “500” in red. The right portion is richly decorated with symmetrical floral, vines, ribbons, and baroque-style embellishments in dark green, red, and black. At the center of this is the denomination, serial number and signatures below it. To the left in a shield-shaped panel there is a double-headed eagle, and below it legal text. To the right in another shield-shaped panel is the denomination, with the denomination (again) and year below it.
The background is pale greeen, with a repeating textured pattern composed of the number “500”.

Reverse symbolThe rightmost section is blank. The left portion is richly decorated, a highly ornate, symmetrical frame decorated with scrollwork, leaf motifs, and architectural columns encloses a rectangular text box with legal text, behind it a large red ornamental watermark-like number “500”. The denomination repeats across the frame inside medallions, frames and embedded within the columns. To the left of the central frame is a seated female figure, a personification of Russia, holds a military standard. Centered at the bottom of the design is the denomination repeated again.
The background is pale greeen, with a repeating textured pattern composed of the number “500”.
