Obverse symbol

A black and white frame decorated with abstract shapes with the values "50" and "FIFTY". In the center, in a decorative form, the face value of the banknote. In an oval on the left, a portrait of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI), and on the right, the official seal of the Bank of Canada in black. The note's serial number is printed in red and repeated twice. The background color of the note is brown/orange.
