Obverse symbol

A black and white frame decorated with abstract shapes with the values "1000" and "MILLE". In the center, in a decorative form, the banknote's value. In an oval on the left, a portrait of Sir Henry Charles Wilfrid Laurier, statesman, Canada's seventh Prime Minister from 1896 to 1911, and on the right, the official seal of the Bank of Canada in black. The note's serial number is printed in red and repeated twice. The background color of the note is green.

Reverse symbol

In the middle, an allegory of Security with a young woman wearing a helmet, armed with a sword and a shield, protecting a frightened young boy. All around, a large decorative composition accompanied by the value of the banknote. The background colour of the note is green.
