Obverse symbol

A black and white frame decorated with abstract shapes with the values "1" and "UN". In the center, in a decorative form, the banknote's face value. In an oval on the left is a portrait of King George V, and on the right is the official seal of the Bank of Canada in black. The note's serial number is printed in red and repeated twice.
