Obverse symbol

Front and back printing, predominantly brown, blue, green and yellow. Texts in French. Frame composed of repeating guilloche patterns with the value “1000” repeated in three angles. On the upper border, the issuing institute “BANQUE DU CONGO BELGE” and below the value “THOUSAND FRANCS” and the words “PAYABLE ON SIGHT”. On the left, three Wagenia fishermen pose on the riverbank next to a fish trap. On the right, the watermark surrounded by exotic vegetation and a Congolese star printed in yellow below. The value “1000” is printed in white in the lower right corner. The series and banknote number are printed four times in black. Signatures are printed in black at the bottom. The article of the penal code is printed in white on a line at the edge of the frame.
