Obverse symbol

Printing, predominantly green, orange and purple. Texts in French. Frame composed of repeating diamonds and guilloche shapes. The value “50” is repeated in light yellow in the corners. A safety background is made up of small repeating rosettes and a large purple rosette in the center. On the upper border, the issuing institute “BANQUE CENTRALE DU CONGO BELGE ET DU RUANDA-URUNDI”, the date of issue in black, the value “CINQUANTE FRANCS”, the words “PAYABLE A VUE” and the signatures printed in black. On the left, in an oval medallion with a decorated outline, the profile portrait of a young Mangbetu woman with the Congolese star printed in yellow above. The watermark on the left and in the center, two young women place a fishing net at the edge of a small waterfall on the banks of a river. The signatures are written in black on the back.
