Obverse symbol

Printing, predominantly purple and brown. Texts in French. Frame composed of repeating guilloche shapes. The value “1000” is repeated in the corners. A security background is composed of small repeating intertwined scrolls and a large rosette in pink and blue in the center of the note. On the sides, the Congolese star is printed in yellow. On the upper border, the issuing institute “BANQUE CENTRALE DU CONGO BELGE ET DU RUANDA-URUNDI”, then the date of issue in black and below, the value “MILLE FRANCS”, the words “PAYABLE A VUE” and the signatures printed in black.
