At middle - National Martyrs' Memorial (Bengali: জাতীয় স্মৃতি সৌধ Jatiyo Sriti Soudho). It is the national monument of Bangladesh, set up in the memory of those who died in the Bangladesh War of Independence of 1971, which brought independence and separated Bangladesh from Pakistan.
