The wording of the issuing institute “BANQUE DE FRANCE” is crossed out by two black lines and overlaid below with the words “BANQUE DE L’ALGIÈRE” in black. The initial value of “CENT FRANCS” is also crossed out with three black lines and overloaded below with the value “MILLE FRANCS” in black. The numbering, signatures and date of issue are printed in black. On the sides, two allegories sit on the two filigrees. On the left, a helmeted woman (Minerva) symbolizing Wisdom is leaning on a shield and holding a feather and a branch in her hand.
