BANKA SLOVENIJE 1000 TISOČ TOLARJEV France Prešeren (1800-1849)

Obverse symbol

The hand engraved portrait of the poet France Prešeren is the main motif on the front of the banknote. The profile silhouette filled up with microwriting completes the image. In the upper left hand area of the banknote a facsimile of Preseren's signature is printed by the intaglio method. In the middle of the back of the banknote part of the text from "The Toast" is printed. The left side of the banknotes is stamped with “Banka Slovenije 1991-2001” in gold.

Reverse symbol

The upper left side bears a stylized writing quill, next to it the word "Prijatli" (Friends) in the poet's handwriting is printed by the intaglio method.
