Obverse symbol

Polychrome print, predominantly blue and pink. Guilloche frame with a blue, light green and pink gradient security background. The labels are printed in Arabic in the center at the top. Below, the date of issue “20-3-1962”. On the right, a portrait of Habib Bourguiba and on the left part of the note, a view of a bridge located on the Mellègue River in Souk-el-Arba. The value “5” and the numbering are repeated in black in the corners. Prefixes “C/10 to C/24” in front of the number.

Reverse symbol

Thick guilloche frame composed of repeating geometric shapes. The wording of the issuing institute is indicated in French “BANQUE CENTRALE DE TUNISIE”. Below, a view of the interior arches of the great mosque of Kairouan, then the coat of arms of Tunisia in the center and an olive branch on the right, a symbol of peace. The western numeral value “5” is repeated in the lower corners and the letter value, in French, is printed in the center at the bottom of the guilloche frame.
