Obverse symbol

The following representative graphic elements stand out on the obverse of the note: On the right side, in the foreground, the portrait and signature of King Carol I, below, his name and years of life, namely "KING CAROL I 1839-1914". In the central area, there is a representation of the reverse of the insignia of the Order of the "Star of Romania" and a battle scene from the War of Independence. Also printed on the obverse are: - the coat of arms of Romania - the name of the central bank "BANCA NAȚIONALĂ A ROMÂNIEI" - the National Bank logo. The nominal value is inscribed four times, as follows: - at the lower left, horizontally, "100" - in the central part, at the bottom, horizontally, in letters, "LEI UNA SUTĂ" - at the lower right, vertically, in letters "UNA SUTĂ LEI" - at the upper right, vertically, "100". The signatures of the Governor and the Central Cashier are printed in the central part, above the nominal value in letters. The date of issue, namely "1 December 2024", is printed vertically, on the right of the banknote. Stylised geometric motifs are printed on the background of the banknote, in faded colours.

Reverse symbol

The reverse of the banknote showcases the following elements: A representation of the statue of King Carol I which can be found at Peleș Castle, and in the centre an image of the castle itself. Below, printed horizontally, the text "FALSIFICAREA ACESTOR BILETE SE PENDEPSEȘTE CONFORME LEGILOR". In the background, in the central area, there is a representation of the Carol I bridge which crosses the Danube at Cernavodă. Above, horizontally, is the name of the central bank "BANCA NAȚIONALĂ A ROMÂNIEI" and the BNR logo, which is positioned in the upper right and lower left. The nominal value is printed as follows: - "100" vertically at the upper left - "100" horizontally above Peleș Castle - "UNA SUTĂ LEI" horizontally in the lower left. On the background of the banknote, stylised geometric motifs are printed, in faded colours.
